So I went to the head of systems and explained I wanted to be able to ssh into my work machine, and that I'd be good and only use the VPN to access it and I would never telnet. Okay, that seems legit, he says. He'll assign me a fixed IP number. And what do I want for a host name?

"Oh. I hadn't thought about that. Er. Wait. Do you have a browser window open for me? Could you google something for me?"

"Sure. Shoot."

"'Murex'. Hit 'images'. A ha! 'Murex'!"

"It's a bunch of sea shells."

"Yes."

"A bunch of spiny sea shells."

"They're SECURE C shells!"
