Little Fayoumis gets paper from the recycle bin here in the labs to draw on and otherwise play with. He used to ignore the typing. Now, he's turning them into worksheets, and making up his own instructions -- they seem to contain math problems, and also things where he's supposed to circle the words with a certain number of letters.

Lecture
I have science talks with the Little Fayoumis when we're walking home. I had class today, Sandstrom and then Lit, and I boiled down some stuff for the Little Fayoumis.
He was learning a little about operating systems today. Different kinds of operating systems, and what they do. (Basically, you can turn a computer on, and you can see what files and programs you have.) And there are different kinds!
Little Fayoumis says that he wants 1000 Linux and Linux A Million for his computers Strongbad and The Cheat. Yep.
And then we talked networking. A computer on a network has three names: one is the computer's name that people call it by and it calls itself, one that is the IP address that other computers send stuff to, and one is the MAC address on the network card. A computer with one network card has one MAC address. If a computer has two network cards, how many MAC addresses does it have?
"Two!" he answered, sounding very pleased with himself.
That's college-level computer stuff, right there.
Also in college, he learned that grown-ups still talk about fart jokes. In Lit class.

Little Fayoumis and I ran into Mr. President. He, as is his wont, burst into song.
"Stop singing!" Little Fayoumis said. (He says this a lot.)
"That was rude," I told him. "Corner."
To the corner he went. After he came out, I asked him, "What did you do?"
"I was rude," he said.
"What did you say that was rude?"
"Stop singing."
"And who did you say it to?"
"Him." (Indicating Mr. President.)
"And what do you tell him?"
"Sorry." (Kinda mumbled, but looking at Mr. President.)
Mr. President was charmed. Evidently kids with manners is not a common thing in the States, even (especially?) when the manners are externally imposed upon them.
Overall, a good day, though the tantrum about getting dressed in the morning and that were a little iffy. (Well, the tantrum was definitely bad.)

Most practitioners of the healing arts believe in taking a gradual approach. I get upset over the weirdest things.
I get mad when me-upset-and-trying-to-figure-out-what-the-hell-is-going-on turns into bad stuff. I got upset. I couldn't sleep. I came out to see what had happened. Kaboom.
When I'm upset, all I really need is people being calm and giving hugs where applicable, not making me-upset out as being the Psychotic Nightmare of the Century.

Threw out two grocery sacks' worth of assorted stuff, mostly paper, from the top of my bookshelf.
