In such a situation, it would be pretty damned funny if the intended victim spotted the crumbs and got rid of them without the prankster's knowledge.

THEN, when the prankster got back in the room, the intended victim would put the shorts on and act normal.

It would drive the prankster nuts as time passed, waiting for the intended victim to notice ...
