When reading my journal, you may notice that my references to myself vary. I occasionally refer to myself, or various nicknames, in the third person, in the plural... this is largely because I have been and am more than one personality in one body.
From approximately 1994 to 2001, there were up to four distinct personalities: Joan-prime, Shanna, Mona, and the fourth. The fourth persona-space has been filled by T'Kay, Laughing Hawk, and, most recently, Azure Lunatic. I split because I had no one to talk to, and remained split for administrative reasons, including depression management. In the spring of 2001, we the Collective merged into one relatively coherent whole.
At least, that's what we thought. In the late summer of 2002,
evealone brought to our attention that we were not as integrated as we thought we had been, identifying the primary persona, mostly known as Azz or by the body-name, Joan, or any reasonable mutation thereof; and Dagger, the warrior persona, an ideological descendant of the Shanna and Azz factions.
More recently, introspection and chats with
iroshi brought to light two others: Marah ("the bitter"), and Naomi. Marah is not often pleasant or cheerful. Naomi does not appear in public, and is reminiscent of Mona. As a whole, we answer to any reasonable mutation of any of our names.

I later integrated the two, because really, who'd want to be Stephanie in that situation? *G*
Of course, now the 'spare' otherspace in my head is mostly filled with god-concepts and the like.

1) Do your various "facets" vote together on important issues, or do specific facets handle specific situations unilaterally?
2) If they do vote so to speak, how are the votes tallied? Handled? Do certain facets get more "weight" in the process? Do coliations form for voting blocs?
Curious

If it's something within a specific expertise area, it tends to get handled unilaterally, since control gets passed off to the one who's out because it's their job.
Situations requiring a consensus, or great delicacy, are handled together. Mostly N% does not input, because of lack of expertise/protected status. Situations involving conflict are usually handled by either me and
We're used to holding debates to decide matters. Sometimes the debates happen internally; sometimes they get hashed out in text form. Often they get hashed out in text. We only tend to hold votes on issues that don't really matter what the decision is; everything else is discussed.
One issue that got voted on was whether Darkside's taste in music sucked. Azure Lunatic thought it sucked, Mona thought it was sweet, Joan-prime thought... eh, I can't remember. I think she/I ... I *can't* remember! ...and Shanna was laughing too hard to vote. I *think* Joan-prime's opinion was that whatever Darkside liked was all right by her, but that's only a guess.
Coalitions. Oh gods. That can get amusing, as well as very interesting. It usually depends on who's out at once. Yes, coalitions do form, usually by interest. I (Azz-prime) got scolded very firmly for leaving N% out by herself in school a week and a half ago when she was programming on her own and turning somersaults in the computer lab while attempting to get something through to the rest of our project group. (DeVry. Somersaults.) N% is the least social, because of her lack of experience, and especially her lack of of realization that she lacks the appropriate graces. I am not at all sure what the combination of N% with Marah or
There is not often particularly much division between aspects. I'm a little overwhelmed by the way Dagger dealt with the Beastling situation (a friend had an ex. He deserved chewing out. Dagger took care of it.) but that was her area, and I admire her skill at flaming, and am glad she has her own journal to do that with. It needed to be done, and we collectively had the skills, but that's not something I want to touch with a ten-foot pole. I'm just a computer user, but N% really really gets into it, to the point of coming out solo in public (which she doesn't do) and talking (another thing she doesn't do). However, that's usually more "not my bag" type situations than active disagreements on how things get done. If there are active disagreements on handling, then we need to call a fifth party mediator in, external, often Darkside or
