showed up and gave me hugs and snuggles and let me decompress and nap.
Woke up, put in ear drops.

I suspect that the only reason this *didn't* happen is because I have high levels of tolerance for pain.

Yeah.
It was one of those "I can't close my mouth because my eustacean(word I can never spell right) tubes are all swollen" moments.
