morning...

By sheer chance (and cunning planning) I got to school before the lab opened at seven. Must retrieve my keys from Adam; he was last out the door this morning. He will get his own set soon, as soon as his paperwork goes through and he can be in the office to pick up keys when they're open. (Probably not going to happen until Friday.)

Darkside is very much himself these days. Something odd is brewing.

Am trying to clean room. Bags of trash carried out yesterday: 6. V. good. Sultry looks from Darkside so far today: 3. Disappointing. Usually get more.

stress at work

And remember, children, when we take an oath to help the people of the world, this means that every now and then, you will make a telephone call to some woman who has just suffered this incredible shock to her world, and her suffering and lonliness are just as bad as the suffering and lonliness of anyone else out there.

And even though you two talk on the phone for twenty minutes, and she's xenophobic as hell because she's from Kansas, you are still called to help her.

...*sigh* I don't want the world. I just want your half.

Homesick

Looks like my parents are flying down to California, then driving over with one or more of the aunts to visit.

Should be fun.

I haven't seen my mother and father since Samhein of 2000.
