It's good to know you have a friend who will clobber you in case of depression.

Pain

Yeah. Ow.

Morning.

Had one of those mornings, you know? Started out great until I pulled something a little too intrusive, then I shut down. Darkside was trying to work on character sheets for the game; he noticed that something was wrong. I, this time, instead of holding it all in too much, wound up writing on private in my journal and letting him see it.

That's a good way for me to do things. Reminder to self: must print out things if Darkside's not there when I have things to write to him.

After some more adjustments, Darkside and I hacked around with some character and game concepts before actually digging in. My character will be a cop who doesn't believe in all the freaky creepy stuff that's about to happen to him/her. Horror!!!

Migods, there is communication!

To say that I "let Darkside see what makes me tick" would be inaccurate, of today. He already knows many, if not most, of the psychological structures inside me that make me do what I do; he knows what most of the inputs are for my reactions around him. He observes the ticking.

Today, I allowed him to see printouts of the internal states while the ticking was going on. Now, perhaps, he will have a better understanding of why these inputs and the psychological structures interact to produce a ticking response.

Communication. I love it.

To make the interaction even better, he doesn't understand why I called people who would not listen when I had something to say "friend" ever at all. That situation is not something that he calls friendship.


Darkside and Votania are my models for adult friendship, now. Certainly I've had friends in the past, but those friendships are the ones that have evolved since childhood, especially my relationship with Narcissa. Some of my adult friends aren't particularly close.

Somehow, Darkside and Votania are the people closest to me who I haven't known my whole life, with the most sane friendships. I'm not sure how we're making it work, but we are.

tarpo: At the moment, black jeans and a black tank top. When I go out for class in a few moments, I'll have added a faded black button-down mens' dress shirt overtop, unbuttoned with notecards and a pen in the breast pocket.

shadesong: Take a look at your calender, then take a gander at mine, and see if you can't answer that one for yourself. Personally, I'd say no, though there is one character I know of who only posts every few days and that's too much; your quality makes quantity from you an excellent idea.

poormattie: I'd say hi in return to the random stranger, especially if they sounded interesting.

crisavec: What use is a familiar without a witch/wizard to go with?

Retirement Fund My Ass

I socked some of my RI money into a retirement fund (company-arranged), and year to date, it's lost 5.8%. This is not a good sign.

Ah well. It's not like I was depending on that money anyway.

To Do:

Get new backpack
Get more notecards
Install burner software for CD drive
Finish summary paper
Write proposal for research paper
Work on DB lab 2&3
Donate plasma
Get re-hired by RI
Buy the raw materials for starting up perfume oil manufacturing
Get enough sleep...

Fashion

Lately, I've been wearing tank tops, long pants, and a loose button-down shirt overtop, left unbuttoned, all in black.

Darkside's noticed that the fashions recycle themselves, and commented that either I'm wearing the same shirt day after day, or I've got a lot of them, of the tank tops.

Gosh, genius, It took you this long to figure that out? What about my fashion from last season, the long-sleeved shirts that all looked identical?

At least he's noticing what I'm wearing.

Speech Class

Today I was the chairperson. I have noticed that when I'm in any kind of role of authority, I wind up running everything.

"Mister Chairwoman" is not, by the way, the correct form of address. (Some people were getting confused and flustered...)
