It's Monkey Night!

[23:08] [livejournal.com profile] azurelunatic: Hey, it's Monkey Night!
[23:08] [livejournal.com profile] crisavec: ?
[23:09] [livejournal.com profile] azurelunatic: Monkeys are flying out of my butt, and also out of Elorie's friend's butt.
[23:09] [livejournal.com profile] crisavec: that sounds sorta painful
[23:09] [livejournal.com profile] azurelunatic: Hehe.

[23:10] [livejournal.com profile] crisavec: do you use numbing lube for that?
[23:10] [livejournal.com profile] azurelunatic: Haven't the foggiest.
[23:10] [livejournal.com profile] crisavec: ahh
[23:10] [livejournal.com profile] azurelunatic: Since I'm not feeling very much at the moment, either I am, or else they're very very small monkeys...

Antisocial again.

I have the feeling I'm not going to want to talk to anyone for a few days...

Well, maybe not. It comes in cycles.

Antisocial and lonely. It gets worst late at night; it gets worse when there's someone else there, and you're still lonely...

Hole in my soul

Well, duh. Since I'm not getting enough time with Darkside, and something about my friendship with him is very essential to me, of course I'm feeling awful.

You want to see someone who's acting like she just lost her best friend? Look no further.

I'm used to spending a good 8+ hours a week with a man who can make me giggle when I'm in the darkest of depressions, and haul my worldview around and dump me on my ass and make me think with only a few words. I can cry in front of him. He has seen me as I am just fallen out of bed in the morning; he has seen me hyper as hell; he has seen me too tired at night to even sit up straight. I'm used to calling him every few days and spending time wisecracking over the phone, as if the time we spend together at school weren't enough. When we talk on the phone, a short call is 20 minutes. One evening, we were both surprised to notice that it was almost 11 pm, and he'd called around sunset.

I spent two hours with my best friend over a month ago.

I talk with him on the phone maybe ten to twenty minutes at a time if he's got time to talk, on the days that I can call.

I have other friends. I have other, very good, friends. I have [livejournal.com profile] votania, [livejournal.com profile] ralmathon, [livejournal.com profile] yaksha42, [livejournal.com profile] marxdarx, and all you guys. But none of you are Darkside.

Intimacy and comfort

Darkside's still my best friend. As I log more time with friends, they become closer, or not. I've already reached a comfortable level of intimacy with many of my friends, and that's likely where it'll stay, without major changes. As it stands, I have a need for a friend I can spend 8+ hours a week with, who I'm mentally and energetically intimate with, and who I'm physically comfortable with. I have no candidates.

Physical intimacy doesn't equal physical comfort, either. I'm physically most comfortable with Darkside and [livejournal.com profile] ralmathon. When sparring with Darkside, I'm likely to wind up in some of the most amusing positions, because I don't particularly need to keep track of what it looks like I'm doing, or where I'm putting my elbows other than for safety reasons. We're not the kind of friends who get naked with each other, but I'm more comfortable getting my ass kicked by Darkside than I am making love with someone else, often...

talks...

Figuring stuff out.

I need to chat with Lady Malfoy, and then get a ride to Mesa some weekend.

Storytime

Nephew was talking about school, telling mostly-pretend stories. I think he got moved to the Red Table. I'm not sure, though. He talked about "when he was a grown-up" and driving to school with Mommy when Mommy was a kid, and having his brother drive him to his school, and having a mustache.

I told him that maybe he should tell his best friend that his best friend could ask his best friend's mom to call Mommy so maybe the two of them could play together sometime not in school. He thought that was a pretty cool idea.

Stuff

If anybody in the Temple should happen to see [livejournal.com profile] marxdarx's art portfolio, it's gone missing, evidently at the bus stop. Nephew and I walked there to check it out, and also poked nose into the gas station on that corner to see if anyone had turned it in there, but nobody had.

Next stop: have Marx call the bus station lost & found, since he's the one who knows what it looks like.

Attack of the Vast Helpfulness

Little Fayoumis is being extraordinarily helpful today: asking if there was anything he could do to earn a penny for his piggy bank. First, we vacuumed; after that, we folded and somewhat put away the laundry in the west bedroom. My laundry was already put away.

Little Fayoumis mostly turned things right-side-out, and put away his own socks and underwear, and also the towels.

Blame Aza, as her list giggles forth these links:

As the poster to that list commented, the spelling, for once, enhances the experience.

I propose...

...that the use of automated dialers using recorded messages for the purpose of selling something to someone or informing people of business opportunities be outlawed upon the pain of Denial of Service attack.

Only a mildly dysgraphic geek...

...would look at the alt + tab menu and see "Task Mangler" as an open window.

Achey Breaky Browser

IE is being mean to me, with the collusion of Yahoo. I have had to end task no fewer than three times, and quite likely more.

I shall have to again, but I have narrowed down the immediate cause: hitting links in my e-mail messages to reply to LJ comments breaks things. "Open in new window" does not break, but this time I forgot, and all hell will again freeze over on my browser.
