My NIC may have died. (Posting from myrrhianna's laptop right now.)

It's not a good sign when the little green light lights only a little bit up, but not all the way blinky like it's supposed to. Really.

I suppose a new NIC was sort of inevitable. Will consult with hcolleen about an internal wireless NIC as the external one was evil and cheap and probably half my problem (the wireless router being the other half).

Will I lose my dignity? (yes.)

IRC silliness.

It was a slow weekend. Thus, there was no dev available in IRC to poke to see if there was a quick fix for a site scheme issue. So I submitted it as a suggestion instead, with the notation in the ordered list of benefits: "Posting a suggestion is better than hitting a dev with a frying pan in IRC and maintains the suggestions process better."

Fic search

I would like to see or find some Nagini-centric fanfiction written by someone with more than a passing familiarity with snakes. I have heard that snakes are really, really, really Not Smart. This would be very interesting when applied to a giant and somewhat evil snake.

(er, this is for *gen* fic. Or at least the parts with Nagini need to be gen, unless there's another giant and optionally somewhat evil snake out there that Nagini takes an interest in. And it's sad that I should feel the need to specify this.)

Hooray for being a good little vol!

I have been in and out of suggestions all day today. It is my stated goal to get up through 2005 tagged appropriately (either "~ historical" to go back and fix in a second run, or actually fully) before tonight ends.

Let's see how far I get. I'm in January 2004 right now, which is not bad going. I will probably not succeed, but at least I'll get somewhere.

I do keep getting distracted, but this entry is actually not so bad of a distraction as it might seem, because I have to see the page following an update. So I might as well update.

Darkside was not much with the awake yesterday. I'm not sure what happened today, but animé didn't. Partly, I was a little too much wanting to stay in. Next week, though, I hope to get together as per what is now the usual.
