Holiday

Solstice: slept through most of it. It's only appropriate that I should spend the longest night of the year, and a lot of its associated day, asleep. Perhaps I'll be awake for most of the summer one.


Christmas:

Enjoyed Yuletide. Yay! I will continue to explore the archive because wheeeeeeeeee; I will be intermittently tweetbookmarking what I find there.

Called Darkside for long enough to say hi; he had other stuff going on.

Called Kat for slightly less long.

Called Mama and had a good long chat. FatherSir had been out tractoring around and was asleep.

Dishes and laundry, oh my.

It's always nice to have my holiday already over with while nearly everyone else is still in pre-holiday panic mode. Perks of being a pagan in a Christian and secular-Christian dominated area. Heh.


Work tomorrow should continue to be peaceful.

The requisite parental tech support

While Mama is rarely on the bleeding edge of tech, sometimes I can help.

* If you hear about an iOS update hosing apps, try googling for "iOS # crash" and the app name of the apps you use. If there are no reports about that, you may be okay to upgrade.
* When googling for partial song lyrics or other fuzzy input results where you'll know the right one when you see it, try seeing what the wrong results have in common that isn't in the right results, and filtering it out.
* To filter search engine results, try the following:
"right bit 1" "right bit 2" rightword -wrong -wronger -wrongest

My mother is still slightly unsure what I do at work and/or what Virtual Hammer makes. I may or may not have been able to clarify.
