The LJ guys tend to think I'm cute.

Even some of the LJ chicks think I'm cute.

Why, then, does that stubborn fool Darkside not???

I bet he does. But from what I've gathered from your descriptions of him, he'd never tell you. It's too personal. Which I guess isn't so unreasonable. There's a couple people I adore, but I'd never tell them for one reason or another, and I'm not nearly as private as Darkside is.

Yep. You're living in a romantic comedy. I think you need a wacky sidekick, though. Everyone needs a wacky sidekick.

You think Darkside may be playing hard to get on purpose? Most people desire, above all else, the things they can't have.

Just a thought anyway. He seems to play a lot gof ames with a person who is obviously not only nuts about him, but pretty spectacular as well, imho. But maybe he just doesn't realize what a lucky guy he is. **Shrug**

The universe is perverse - many times I've been on one end or the other of such a thing. I've felt bad about it when someone is attracted to me, and objectively I know they're nice, I like them, etc - but the 'spark' isn't there for me, I don't feel attracted to them romantically.

It's because guys in person are really stupid creatures.. Or maybe I'm just jaded.. but I really think they are. ^^;; Guys on lj think that it's okay that they think another lj-friend is cute because they have the anonymity of never being able to see you in real life.. so they can be more open with their feelings. Whereas people that you know in the real world will be more closed..

The trouble comes when someone *says* they have no spark... but you, and everyone who looks at the two of you, are *seeing* the sparks... and they remain oblivious.

Romance and simplicity do not as a general rule work together. It has been known to happen, but not regularly, and certainly not with anyone complex enough to be interesting.

I wish you luck, but stubborn males can be a bit of a handfull... You can get through to him, but it will take a bit of beating about the head and shoulders with the knowledge of just how much you adore him.

A definite handful.

He is a delight, and a joy forever, despite his ideas to the contrary, and I intend to convince him so.

Amusingly enough, Darkside gave me his Paranoia rulebook.

Fortunately for me, I know he's not playing conscious games. His mental underlayers may be playing a billion games with both of us, but he's not knowingly toying with me. He'd never do that.

He will, however, happily tease and torture me, because that's how our friendship, such as it is, works. We're weird.

Gah.

He will make himself miserable.

Considering that we are 91% compatible, I think I would make a pretty good sidekick. I think I definitely qualify as wacky.

I dunno, though. I think that sort of twists the overs and unders quite a bit, to make one's priestess one's sidekick....
