Who was it who had the experience with the PTSD treatment where you looked at someone's finger, and it really fucked with your sense of direction afterwards?

Are you referring to EMDR?

I have no idea what it is; one of my "peeps" is having a treatment that answers the above description, and another one posted in a comment or entry where I had occasion to see it, that they'd had something of a similar description, and it had royally fucked with their sense of direction.

I have had EMDR. I know of practitioners who do it with their fingers, but mine used a series of flashing lights instead.
It did mess with my sense of direction, as I was focusing on the lights moving back and forth and it made me a bit dizzy at times.

That would be me - the sensation went away about 30 minutes later - and it was no worse than what happens when I get a migraine or pre-migraine, but it did help with PTSD, I think, because I"m handling a lot of things better than I was before.

I think I posted about it in shadesong's journal, because that's the last place I remember mentioning PTSD. I couldn't remember the name of it, though - so thank you to the person to posted above.

My therapist did use his finger. While it was happening I had to fight a bit to keep from trancing, because I didn't think that trancing was what he wanted. Later I found that trancing would have been ok, and for me, it was an indication that it was working.
