It also helps that we both think of it as one of those natural-law type things. The laws of the universe say that I will love him. Rain gets you wet. So, he hugs me (he does not normally give out hugs, but he makes an exception for me), and I own an umbrella.
One of the running jokes is that I embarrass him, actually. Last time, it was boxer shorts.
I get a kick out of seeing how much I can make him squirm. He gets a kick out of seeing how much he can make me squirm. (One of the most beautiful moments *ever* was when I told our mutual friend Dawn, "Actually, I'm more of a sadist." ...This in reference to some Tenchi...)
A gift certificate might actually be more embarrassing, as he knows how extremely broke I am, and he is also getting a dragon mug (from my mother) and a mirror-dangly for his car (from me).
neither if in fact he is turning 24... one for each year.. though trying to find one to sybolize who he is to you could be ever so much more difficult.. just my two cents worth :)
