I have 2 REAL email addresses (one of which goes to the other's box; LJ) and a "fake" one that I use when I don't want spam in my inbox. The reason I say fake is because it is valid in the sense that it goes to my husband's "iffy" filter, which he cleans out every so often (and he'll forward me something if it looks important). Also, since we share an e-bay account (and a paypal account--since we share a bank acct this makes sense), all ebay and paypal email that is sent to his email is also sent to me thru a filter he has set up. Only two people can access my email: my husband, since he has my password (I've sometimes needed info from my acct while stuck at work, very useful), and presumably the incredibly moral person who runs the server through which we get our email and webspace (but I trust him, else who CAN you trust?).
I take it as a given that admin types for some things will always have access to things. If I were plotting something illegal, I sure as fuckhoney would not do it via e-mail.
