Something that would be a date if both parties were amenable to it being a date, but for some reason one or both are NOT amenable to it being a date, so it's just an undate.
I went for tea and later beer and dinner with a man for the explicit purpose of finding out that we did not fancy each other. I thought, at the time, that it worked rather well.
Still think so, but for other reasons. We're planning our wedding.
