Cat shut in bathroom (litterbox, food, water, pillow) awaiting decatting.
Loud cat.

She's going to, with all good timing and good luck, be decatted Friday. Then maybe she'll stop with the hormonal skeeviness.

Even neutered cats will piss on things to mark turf if they're upset. My parents have been using Happy Cat (aka kitty pot, although not the same thing as catnip) with some success.

Hrm. Sounds like somewhat of a plan.

But the only reason I can think of that she would have to be pissed off would be that she is in heat and Shammash is not paying any attention to her.

So when she's decatted, that should fix the "in heat and ignored" problem, leaving only the "sometimes the litter boxes aren't as clean as they should be" problem.
