Happy fun with Google:

Google now does backwards searches on white pages. Enter phone number! Get name and address (if listed) associated with same!

I found myself. I found FatherSir. I didn't find Sis or Darkside. I found an assortment of other people.

If having yourself google-able by your phone number is a privacy concern for you, Google your number, then fill out a Google phone book removal form with the name and number to be removed.

Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] wiseheron for pointing out the privacy concerns; thanks to [livejournal.com profile] drgnmstrslash for pointing out the feature.

Of course I've been putting phone numbers into google for years to see if a buisness was legit or just trying to scam my grandmother ;-)

Thanks for the heads-up! For whatever daft reason, it would never have occured to me to Google phone numbers. (Some researcher I am!) And after the Neighbor Incident, I'm a lot more paranoid about my info. ::shiver::

Google've been doing that for a while, IIRC.

Only an issue if you're American, though. :o)

Well, yes, but the real reason is that they only ever set these things up to work for Americans. ;o)
