• This is not a dishwasher. It does not take off crusted-on foodstuffs in one run-through. Nor does it get all the gunk out of the bottom of the glass. Nor does it successfully wash your angelfood cake away like the dishwasher commercials. Consider it instead a dish rinser and sanitizer, because you're the one who's going to be doing the washing.


• Dishes are to be rinsed (please!) and stacked in the south sink, so that the north sink basin is free to use the garbage disposal and faucet.


• If it's not yours and you don't know if it's safe to touch, don't touch it. If you're not sure it's safe to touch, it's probably not.


• Nephew's toys should not be parked in the living room; if they're there too long, he's liable to get grounded from them if he does not put them away properly.

...probably more showing up later. Nice to get them down in one place though.
