These days, phones are just very small computers. We (elance and I) named our phones because if you don't, they show up as the generic manufacturer name when using Bluetooth. There's some 'phones' that even include 802.11b wireless networking, alongside the normal cellular and bluetooth radios.
I name my bits of electronics, in rough proportion to how expensive they are. My palmtop has a name; my computer has to have a name if it's going to be on the network; my phone should have a name too.
Right now the name that's suggesting itself is AzureGhost, because it's a Kyocera Phantom, and it's blue-glowy.
