Whee!

Plan for tomorrow:

Brave BART. Wander around for a bit, hopefully not getting lost in the process. Meet up with [livejournal.com profile] pyrogenic at his place at 2. See the Exploratorium (yay!), catch up on things, have dinner around 7.

[livejournal.com profile] ataniell93, the internet connection on Thalia is somewhat sporadic due to the nature of the beast -- wireless from another building is rather affected by the weather, it seems! (I liiiiike rain. Alas that the radio waves don't, so much.) Internet in other parts of the building should be all right now that the boys are not sucking up huge amounts of bandwidth by gaming on it.

Where are you going to have dinner at 7? I get off work at 6. At UCSF.

A kosher restaurant is not required. I eat at Ebisu with Robert all the time (but won't have that kind of money tomorrow, am just making a point). If I can get a good fish or vegetarian entree and can be certain that there is not, say, pork in my refried beans, I will be fine. I'm not Orthodox, and my kitchen's not properly kashered, I just don't want to eat treif.

If I lived someplace that HAD good kosher restaurants, I'd patronise them, but I live in San Francisco and Berserkeley is a bit far to go for dinner on a regular basis.

I'd like to get out for under $20 if possible because I don't have a lot of money to last to the end of the month.

I went to the Exploratorium on a trip to SF 6 years or so ago. Great place.

I was on a business trip with my husband. The company had paid for spouses who wanted to come, to make up for all the long hours our spouses had been working to get ready for this show! So I walked with Andrew and the others from the company who were staying at the same hotel, over to the conference center. I was then going to make my way to the Exploratorium. One of the fellows, who lived in the area, had his ~10 yr old son with him. Grandma was going to come by to pick him up for the day. I offered to take Sam with me. We ended up having a good day. Sam was very quiet, so I wasn't sure how much he'd enjoyed it, but I heard back through his father that it was the best trip he'd had! I made a point of explaining the exhibits that he showed interest in, as best I could. So I think he got more out of it than with a regular trip.

Anyhow, I had great fun there too. Would love to go back, esp with my sons.

Enjoy!
