Brainiac: Science Abuse (shown on Sky here - I watched older episodes on the free Sky 3) regularly features them microwaving more interesting things - like sealed tins of paint. They have to do this outside, and go through one microwave - and usually one table that it's sitting on - per episode.

They also blow up caravans, and other fun stuff.
