I don't know exactly what to do at this point.

...but this is what's going on.

I have things cleaned up, I think, so I'll let her out of the bathroom and go to bed. I called Dawn; Dawn gave comfort. I ranted at IRC; IRC gave more comfort. It seems to be too late for a lot of the places I searched up, and I don't have the time at this moment to see if there's something still open. Tomorrow after work.

One of my cats gets bloody mucus in his stools when he eats a lot of kinds of commercial catfood- one of the reasons we switched to homemade, mostly. Now, I know you don't want to do homemade- but it's possible that switching foods will help. With our Mel, the vet recommended semi-moist, which did seem to work- but I didn't want to feed him the additives etc. It might be a good choice in your case, though.

Also, in my experience, many of the fancier and more expensive catfoods are not actually more expensive per cat per5 day, since they eat less of them. My best guess is that with Mel it's some sort of allergy to grain or something. He still gets it if we give him his beloved dry food more than 2 days in a row, but is OK except for that.

Good luck- what an awful situation. :(
