(Old stuff: January 1-3) New Year, partying, and website-building
January 1:
Approximately upon my return from the party of excellent hilarity, I wound up chatting with some buddies for a bit. That was fun.
My New Year's Resolution was the same as last year's: 1680x1050.
There was some discussion that got me thinking on the nature of "epic" as relates to my own conception of it. Since I have my father's avalanche temper, but I've also learned to control it, my internal state is often not at all readily apparent. Internal absolute fury can come off pretty calm on the surface, to the point where another party interacting with me might not notice I'm mad, or might think I'm annoyed but not get how absolutely furious I actually am.
January 2:
I spent part of the evening hanging out with JD & Ryan; when JD wondered if there were any recipes for vanilla chicken, I found some. Accidentally left my waterbottle there.

Today: woke up late-ish but not horrible.
Went over to aunt's, somewhat belatedly. She'd discovered Google Site, which is apparently new enough that it wasn't around when I was first scouting out places to do her website. She'd been poking around in the morning, and then she tried to show me but it was Not Behaving. So I took it in hand and made it behave.
One of the interesting things involved with that was her mouse. She has one of those new multitouch Apple mice. I was fascinated.
Google Sites is much more cooperative for me than the Product We Shall Not Name, from my former employer $WORK1, the Domain Shop. Very importantly, my aunt knows how to operate the WYSIWYG editor on this thing, and WYS is in fact WYG. So that took up most of the afternoon, with me yelling at it every now and then, her yelling at it, and then me having to turn on the light because it was getting dark and the blue light from the screen was making me feel sick.
Turns out that running f.lux on my main box Madman here has reduced my tolerance for blue light emanating from computer screens when it's otherwise dark, and subjecting myself to too much of it now makes me dizzy and nauseous. Good to know.
By the end of the evening, after not all that much too much yelling, there was a workable, if a bit sparse, website. Though I did spend the hour before dinner emailing back and forth with the best friend (conclusion: licking frozen cars is not likely to be much better than licking frozen lightpoles), and yelling about BANTAM HENS BANTAM HENS BANTAM HENS, roosters, cocks, and pr0n in IM with someone else.
Tomorrow we start playing with Google Analytics, Google Webmaster Tools, YouTube, and the like. Funtimes for all!
