Woke up this morning (a few hours after having finally got to bed) in considerable distress, as it had become immensely difficult to breathe. The subsequent coughing fit helped a little, but I remained awake and upright until I felt that my throat had fully opened up again.

I opted to not share all my snot and germs with the world, and stayed miserably in. (Not to mention, I was dead to the world until late in the evening.) Disappointing, as there was a lot of fun that I'd rather have been having, but...

In accordance with the advice I'd passed along to my aunt about neti pot safety, I used pre-boiled water to rinse out my nose. Hooray neti pot. Amazing amounts of crud came out, and I felt much more human after having done so.


#dw is hopping. There are new people! Old people returned! Chatty people! There are good times. Rah has instituted a new thing, the regular channel stretch break -- voluntary, but useful.

It is satsuma season here. Delicious. I have been eating a lot of them, and grilled cheese sandwiches, this week.

I should really find myself an IRC client I do not hate utterly and hang out more on there. mIRC is usable but still annoys me deeply and everything else I've ever used I haaaaate. (A pity that Trillian's IRC functionality is so horribly useless. Possibly relatedly, it's a pity that I can't stand anything more recent than Trillian 3. ...to be fair, I am apparently just about as particular about my chat programs as synecdochic and would also be using the same EOLed-awhile-back chat program she uses were I on a mac regularly still.)

Oh yes, satsumas are the annual temporary replacement for everything I eat the rest of the year, trying to find that acid/sweet/satisfying shock I only get from satsumas...oh wait, that was pretty recursive, but even so.
