Well in some ways, there is such a thing: I have way too much familiarity with the mechanics of PS2-USB converters. And that's PlayStation2, not something else. (The trick is to get one that treats the digital arrows as buttons, not as axes, so that you can do jumps without the directions cancelling. Which is uncommon because the most common way of handling is to map the controller as a joystick.)
