To clarify: are you talking about the content of the Bible, or the Biblical scholarship? For instance, in my copy of the Oxford Annotated Bible, I don't consider God creating the world in seven days to be an accurate or academically rigorous statement, but I think the footnotes and essays about what the current scholarly assessment of which parts of the Bible came from what time period and by which sources are probably pretty safe.

The content of the Bible. I consider "The Bible says God created the world in seven days! Therefore it must be true!" to be about as academically rigorous as "I read a website saying that eating spiders is good for your hair! It was a .edu page. Therefore it must be true!"
