Doing it right, workplace contagion reduction style
I was feeling Unwell Friday, which I thought was from unwise choices Thursday. But then there was the really painful sneeze attack.
I was feeling generally tippy and short of breath Saturday, with a few bouts of painful sneezing.
Sunday I had a sore throat and sinuses dripping hither and yon.
Monday it had moved into my lungs.
Today, there were physical papers I actually had to examine at work. Lungs? Still well below capacity on account of the aliens in them. And odds were that in anybody other than me, this would probably be a mild summer cold, but my lungs are really bad and don't shrug off stuff at all well.
Nevertheless, I wanted to reduce my co-workers' chances of getting whatever I have, while getting the paper side of things done.
I'd warned my Overlady of my status, so she'd know to steer clear of me. As her 1:1 with our manager was wrapping up, I heard voices from the direction of the meeting room. I popped from my cube like a gopher, and witnessed my Overlady double over with the giggles and my manager barely manage to cling to a little more composure than that.
Blue facemask: success.
(And then I came home, because my stamina is shot, I'm coughing up aliens, and I need to be functional tomorrow.)
