Interview yesterday

"That was a good interview" is a reasonable feeling.

"I had a very good time at that interview!" is much more rare.

The company is tech+ adjacent, Seattle-near-Bohemia, and seems to be determined in a mildly cynical way that San Francisco's hostile attitude towards technical companies is a Bad Situation, and one way of avoiding that is to drive a) employee engagement with the community, and b) community engagement with the company. Basically applying money to local causes with a vehicle of barbecue parties. It's not the worst attitude in the world.

The people doing the interview noticed the easter egg about caffeine in my resume, and once we were off and rolling it was a very "yes and" interview with giggling. Lots of giggling. (The last interview where I giggled was the one that got me the receptionist gig. The one before that, I was cheerfully talking fiber arts with Indigo. So, good omens.)

I asked them to walk me through two types of typical day, and that was a good question. Then I spontaneously requested the recruiter to send them a thank-you note, because it was the kind of interview where you actually want to send a thank-you note.

"But do you actually want to do the job?" asked Belovedest, practically.
"I would eat it up with a spoon."
