They're not even for swimming, they're for not getting your glasses smacked into your eyes by a basketball. My current pair is a very cheap Zenni frame, now that I'm less likely to suffer an athletic and improbable glasses mishap than when I was up the chokecherry tree and down the frog pond with any regularity.
