I'm most of the way through attaching the spiral of braided rags of Old Quilt to its new backing. This has been Interrupted a few times with involuntary yelps of pain as I accidentally prick all my fingers with the needle. (I likely need an entire set of thimbles in my size that work for me. I know I've stabbed at least 3 of my left fingers and most viciously my thumb.

I'm proud of the progress, and feeling unexpected kinship with every Victorian and Edwardian maiden who hated needlework.

The new year busted in with a lot of completely illegal fireworks, to the point where we paused the Space Needle virtual show and looked out the window for a while. The virtual show had some nice fake aurora, and one sequence that gave me intense Homestuck feels.

Today I made Christmas Fried Rice, which took the leftover red pork, some extra red bbq sauce, the leftover rice, and peas and broccoli and whatever other odds and ends. The red sauce made everything that wasn't green turn red. It vanished in short order.
