Smartazz strikes again!
Talking, in Science class, about the species variety on islands. Mainland has most; islands closest to mainland have many; islands farthest away from mainland have fewest. Islands at the same distance from mainland have fewer species on the smaller island.
"So, size does matter after all?" said the peanut gallery, in the form of me.
AJ had been expecting this to be said, in one fashion or another, by someone in the room, and cracked up. AJ has a very loud voice, the sort that projects. (He's ex-military, and it shows.) Bird hadn't been expecting this, and it caught him by surprise. He cracked up.
Order was restored to class, but not for a few minutes.
