Silliness, songs, and yarn

Working on the purple afghan for River. Dessert is a glass of the delightful vanilla coke/almond amaretto mixture.

Looking through the songlists, I find "Don't Stand So Close To Me", by the Police, and I giggle: there is a silly Darkside moment associated with this song. The other day when Darkside was driving me home, this song came on the radio, and we began singing along to it. As he pulled into the turn lane, I glared at his sudden smirk, and told him, "Don't you even start making comments about Professor Sandstrom!"

Darkside evidently hadn't been thinking of that, but now ever on, he always will, I'm sure.

"Butterfly", by Crazy Town, is on my list of nifty songs.

Darkside and I have a running joke based on my slight crush on Professor Sandstrom. I happen to think that he's incredibly hot. He's a recent DeVry graduate, and his specialty is security. He's really tall, with long curly red hair. Physically, he's quite all right. But when he opens his mouth, his intelligence shows, and that's damn attractive.

While I'm a student, I would never dream of hitting on him, of course. Unprofessional. But I can still quietly appreciate him to my fellow students, especially my best friend.

Is that you in your icon? If so, you look very cute in that pic. :-D

I love "Butterfly." A lot.

I had a professor-crush (actually, a couple) back in college. Both were young, and smart as hell, and passionate about the subjects they taught. The second one became something of a drinking buddy, but he had a girlfriend so nothing more than that happened. My friends used to tease me and play "Don't Stand So Close To Me" anytime we were in a place with a jukebox during the 6 months I was hanging out with the second one.

The one with the yellow shirt... you look nice in it.

I so wish I could afford to be a permanent user... when that last sale happened I wanted ot buy it sooooo bad but I totally don't have the funds for it right now.

That is indeed, a bitch. I can only assume that some day you will find someone you want who does appreciate you in the way you deserve in those respects. Or maybe he'll grow to see you that way--stranger things have happened, but obviously it's not something one can wait for.

Yeah, don't feel too bad. I have the same problem.

Yeah, that can't be a good thing. I've managed to avoid any romantic entanglements with married people thus far, and definitely plan to keep it that way.

Yeah, that could be a safe exception... I'm sorry, I wasn't thinking about that. I haven't known any successfully married poly couples that I can think of, altho I know they are out there somewhere.
