Wuups.

Teledildonics, take II.

You know those remote-controlled vibrators that one can slip into panties, and then have one's partner with the remote, potentially doing interesting things in public places, and unexpectedly?

Well.

Imagine a web interface for same, with the IR port on your local computer being the local stand-in for the remote control, and one's sweetie cross-country having the account name for your device? You log into Teledildonics Central, or whatever it is, and your sweetie sees that you're online, and sends you a buzz. Like instant messaging, only better. Instant massaging?

The idea has merit, LOL.

I've got one better: an RFC for HyperText Dildonics Protocol. Suddenly you can code up whole sequences of good vibrations, put up a schedule, set it as an alarm clock....

I believe those exist, actually.

I think they come with their own tranceiver instead of using RF ports though

I haven't seent he thing in ages (it was my wife that found it) but yes, it was accessible over the Internet

Here's one (http://www.bluevibrator.com/internet-vibrator.html).

umm..IR? why not go 802.11? aside from not requiring line-of-sight, it would support enough bandwidth to handle haptic sensory output. Logitech was the first one to release a mouse that encorporated an early version of this idea, but an array of several independant (and extremely small) vibrating motors could simulate different textures and waveforms. Several complex interfaces could be used to communicate with it on the other end, but I think perhaps the most promising is the brainfingers (http://www.brainfingers.com/) cybernetic input device. With some training, the mind itself could directly control the waveforms and patterns that the haptic array on the stimulation device, from, conceivably, anywhere on the planet you can currently get a cellphone signal.

I am blown away that such a thing exists. I suppose I shouldn't be surprised....
