When Nosy Cousin was five, he got to watch Night of the Living Dead. Nephew's a little older now, and since Night of the Living Dead was up for grabs at the DeVry library book-cleaning sale (as were The Raven, Alphaville, Four Weddings and a Funeral, The Last Camel Died at Noon, and The Falcon at the Portal), tonight we get to watch Night of the Living Dead.

votania called Darkside and invited him to join in the festivities. For this hour of the morning, he talked on the phone with her a remarkably long time. I know him better than she does, now, and when she reported that he had sounded like he hadn't wanted to talk with her at all, I told her that this was complete balderdash: if he hadn't wanted to talk as much as he'd sounded like not wanting to talk, he would have gotten off the line at the point at which he'd said that he had to work tonight, sorry. Instead, he engaged her in conversation for perhaps thirty seconds afterwards, signifying politeness and caring despite sounding like hell.

Evidently I am in for a gore-fest. Yay. I'll bring my crocheting out.
