Some things just never change.

Ghhhaaaaaa! [livejournal.com profile] digitalambience, please! Bathroom. Belongs to female. Seat on toilet. Leave it how you found it. Please!

*giggle*

Arlo and I have a "leave the seat any which way and check before you use it" agreement, which is one of the only two agreements I find reasonable for mixed-sex-owned bathrooms (the other being "close the lid every time"). He also has the habit of closing the lid, which is also fine by me. Unfortunately, I seem to only check to make sure the seat is down, not that the lid is up. Sitting on the lid is disconcerting. It *flexes*. No actual harm or mess done, just weirdness.

*nods* I find that I've not developed that reflex myself. Though the male-female ratio, growing up, was an even split, my mother was pretty militant about the seat being left down. Since then, most of the male roommates I've had occassion to share a bathroom with have been raised in a largely female household, and so have been taught to leave the seat down.

I rarely pay attention before sitting, and tend to be in for an unpleasant surprise--even in broad daylight, if the seat is left up, LOL.
