If the turkey's not the roasted or stewed variety or lunchmeat, chances are I either won't eat it or will be actively nauseated by it.

Odd, because I never knew any turkeys personally... it's just that the turkey sausage makes me ill.

Ah, but is it the turkey-ness or the sausage-ness that's triggering illness? Myself, I react badly to sausage-ness.

I work just fine with beef or pork sausage. It's the turkey + sausage-ness that's the doing, I think. I was barely able to handle turkey meatballs, with ground turkey.

Perhaps it's the sausage-ness, without the flavour of something else to take over? Or maybe it's the boiled-ness...

Too bad you're not nearby - this thanksgiving I could add 'fried' to your list of Ways To Eat Turkey. :)

There is nothing better. Though I'm with you - turkey sausage is .... ick.

Perhaps it's the combination of 'no discernable flavor' and 'no discernable meatlike texture' that squicks me. ...But then, I probably wouldn't have had the nasty stomach cramps after the pizza with the turkey sausage on it if that were the case...
