Doing Stuff
Yesterday I was worried that I'd lost something from my mnemonic system.
Allow me to explain my mnemonic system. It's effectively a very short tape recording system inside my head, where I can remember with reasonable accuracy various things that I save to it. It has to be very short, and numbers don't get remembered accurately, to the best of my experience. To store to it, I snap twice, say what I need to remember, and snap twice to save. I snap twice to recall the contents. I can store several items before it gets too full. I must re-save after recalling, generally.
The other day (Thursday? Friday?) I was walking down the hall with Darkside past the bookstore. On my way past, I snapped twice, said, "Bus pass", and snapped twice again.
Darkside snapped twice, said, "That was easy!", and snapped twice again.
Much to my surprise, I found that he'd saved "That was easy!" to my mnemonic system. Most other people's input probably would have been ignored. Evidently he has access to some of my mental functions that I thought were private. Odd.
