Ghaaa!

Fucking bigots.

There is a guy at Nephew's daycare who used to be cool with Votania -- until she wore her star in one day and he saw it.

Since then, he's been giving her nothing but trouble.

She called them this morning to ask them to pick Nephew up from school. She sent a note with him to his teacher to make sure he got picked up. Guess who she spoke to at the day care?

Guess who got a call from the school saying that Nephew was there in the office, waiting to be picked up?

She called the day care back, and they are picking up Nephew.

She should send a note to the daycare management about this and any other behavior. Probably not the bigotry, but something like "On 10/xx, I called your office to have my son Yyyyy, who is enrolled in your program, picked up after school. I spoke with Xxxxx, who confirmed the time and agreed that he would be picked up. At xx:xx, I was contacted by the school secretary, who told me my son had not been picked up. [stuff about any other verifiable behavior, not just odd looks, here] I am concerned that the behavior of Xxxxx is compromising the safety and comfort of my son."

Bringing in the bigotry as anything other than a quick mention that she can see no reason for the change in behavior other than said employee's glimpse of her religious jewelry would sidetrack the thing, I think. Having the written complaint on file is important, though.

I have to agree. A complaint needs to be made, officially, regardless of whether his motivations are brought into question, or not.

We're all entitled to our own beliefs, but when day care providers start to neglect children because of the way they feel about how their parents choose to worship...well, that just needs to be stopped, right away.
