Dawn and/or Darkside, lend us thine aid
Called Dawn to check in on her and see how things were doing. They're evidently doing. Her fiance had the bachelor pad from hell: she is cleaning mightily. She mentioned in passing that I get away with a lot of things with Darkside that most people aren't able to get away with.
Darkside called in the middle of that conversation, wanting to know what homework it was. Explained that it was networking, not homework. Networking was one of his worst subjects: he was a programmer. His best subject was Sleep 101, after that, Sarcasm 202, and Scaring Other Students 333. Oh, and algebra. (Mmm, we learn yummy new things about him every day.)
His recommendation, when he learned that I was trying to get Red Hat networked with 2000Pro: Take shotgun, shoot 2000.
We giggled about his father vs. Scooby Doo. Evidently there were two pairs of boxer shorts. Darkside and his mother both like Scooby Doo, and his dad doesn't: there are many jokes on this theme. Darkside was startled that I'd referred to this, as he'd never mentioned it or made one of those jokes in my presence. Evidently he gets a lot of his sense of humor from his mother. (I conveyed my mother's greetings to him: he greets her in return, and says that he's not high.) It's nice, having those little windows on his life.

ralmathon and Shawn want to compare notes. Only they don't know it yet. Shawnyel knows of what I speak when I say that.
Darkside is sad that now that Dawn is in CA, our chances for an RPG together are pretty much not good. Unlessmarxdarx can play that character... *snicker* <insert bad joke about pants/wearing of same>
