Unless you wind up with a smear of glitter on your nose and no real knowledge of the exact way it got there, you haven't been doing it enthusiastically enough. Or you don't have anything with glitter on it, which is a real waste.

It's those glittery styrofoam drums. They're styrofoam balls, smeared so thick with glitter that you can't see the styrofoam, with a silver plastic drum top and bottom put on (squashing down or cutting off the tops and bottoms of the sphere), tied together with silver or gold cord, with little decorative bell&holly things on the top side of the drum.

They're somewhere between 'precious' and 'incredibly tacky'. I have an unholy love/hate relationship with them.

Ooh, that sounds so glittery and tacky I would have loved it. Thanks for explaining, I'm kinda slow where Christmas decorations are concerned...never heard of those glitter drums before.

We found the glitter drums at the local discount store: most of the stuff is made very cheaply somewhere else and imported. Cute little drums are found here and there, but last year was the first time I'd seen the glitter drums. They were bright and sparkly, so I got them.
