(not a) virgin sacrifice
Gave plasma. Got there an hour and a half early. Froze ass off. V. cold. Met another True Believer, this one Christian... and a complete n00b. He will chill out in a few years: until then, expect to hear a rather lot of "Praise the Lord!" from his direction, quite possibly on the bus. If he talked a lot before, as he said he had, and this now is much chilled... man.
Met a Wiccan high priest also, one of the employees, who was eyerolling over the n00b. He mentioned something about his own Deity, the quieter variety that does not get hollered about on the street. Then he noticed my necklace, mentioned his faith and rank. He's also a ULC minister. Rock.
One of the guys also working there, a real cut-up, asked what the HP and I were chatting about. "Wiccan people and pagans", was the answer.
"Wicked people in Vegas?"
The cut-up dropped by later and picked up the book I'd been reading, Cyteen, and proceeded to "read" from it: hysterical smut, not even well-done. I was in stitches.

You don't touch my purse, unless invited. Or my lightsaber. Or my medallion. Or disarrange my filing system, or lose my place.
I'm an evangelical reader. If I like it, and think you should read it, I will try any means necessary to get you hooked on it. Therefore, my "Waaaugh!" level at friendlies handling my books has diminished. Said book was closed and lying on top of me, and he didn't yank it away, which contributed a lot to the lack of "Waaaugh!"
