Gacked from someone's very pointily sarcastic comment in chat, once upon a time, about someone who was being very much holier-than-thou in the lead-by-example way. Someone not quite of this earth, floating a little above it; someone who was universally kind and caring and doing of good deeds and patient, who never snapped back at people, was always courteous and thinking of others...

Someone, in short, that you can be for a few hours at parties, but then take off and occasionally grump and blow your nose and make faces and be tired and be lazy and be Not Perfect, but You.

Most Mary Sues are Earth Angels.
