Finally figured out that GIP stands for Gratuitous Icon Post.

mamadeb used it, I asked. Because finally someone who I didn't mind looking like an idiot in front of had used it, and I *could* ask. :)

Oh, heck, I was *still* wondering what that meant. And I'm pretty good with abbreviations, all things considered.
