Gave a journal code to [livejournal.com profile] reicheire for [livejournal.com profile] venetiakitty, and then added [livejournal.com profile] agent139 because he added me first and sounds cool (though no idea how he came across me), and added [livejournal.com profile] gremliness' friend [livejournal.com profile] nalidoll because she is also cool.

just a bit of qabbalistic nonsense. wasn't sure if you were in that game or not.

if you're going to bother with it - and you don't mind glaring historical innaccuracy for the sake of practical use - i *highly* recommend getting the thoth deck (tarot) and the book of thoth and just working with it that way. that is if you're visual or artistically inclined.

hm. they do say that when you don't learn from history, you're forced to relive it until you have. however i don't know who 'they' are, and i think this is just another way of looking at adaptability.

still, the point remains- history is something more than an armchair exercize. personal or otherwise.

you will find no argument from me on that. contrary to our elementary school programs however history is a great deal more than a collection of facts. its a mythology from which, as you said, a people can make legends of themselves, and make their detractors or blemishes disappear. (little kundera, maybe, i'm on a roll.)

what i wonder though, is where the point is that personal history becomes cultural history- or vice versa. or is there such a point at all?
