Morning: things that suck.

Woke up to votania asking if I could get the LF so she could get some more sleep. Fair enough. I collected him, and experienced the fun that is Little Fayoumis trying to say hi to one of his school friends walking home.

Trouble is, said friend walks home with his mom. And his mom has well and truly squashed any attempts by LF's buddy to chat/play with LF outside of school.

If two kids are walking home with their moms at the same time, and the kids are friends in school, I expect the kids to be chattering away a mile a minute until one kid has to go one way and the other kid has to go the other way. But when LF's friend tries to wave back, his mother hurries him on...

It happens when votania walks him back from school... it happens when I walk him back from school. I don't know why.

But it sucks.

There are enough factors that it could be that we can't narrow it down to what she's being a bitch about, sadly...

Bleargh. I knew someone who dropped all of her friends when she found out she was pregnant, because she did not want her child to associate with 'that kind of people'. It is amazing to me how absurdly close-minded people become about the standards they set for their children. Personally, to me it wouldn't be childhood without the occasional lapse into eating dirt, handling earthworms, or forming your own opinions about other people without regards to the dictates of society. People like that make me ITCH!!!!!

votania cleaned up and straightened out when she found out she was pregnant, just like shadesong ... but when one is hanging out with drug dealers and heavy drug users, such a course of action might be only wise...

**nod** In this case, though, it was all her "icky" gay and f/sf-type friends who got dumped.
But the people at work who won't let their kids play with other kids because "I don't know their parents -- they might not dust under the sofa cushions" ... sheesh. I could see if they thought the people were drug addicts or child molesters, but really!

Nod. And I have already warned my two friends that got dropped for being "evil gay people" that they are just going to have to get used to being crawled all over by youngun's because they are going to be honorary uncles. Well, ... one o' these days! **giggle**
