Merry Meet on the bus
Met another pagan on the bus, Rob, who for a moment double-took as I looked far too much like his girlfriend Amber, and was wearing the same pendant that he himself has at home.
(Must all pagan chicks wear all black and be named Amber?)
We chatted about the amusing juxtaposition of two Christians and two Pagans chatting merrily away on the same bus, and I pointed out the religion of the giver of my pendant. He was happy about religious happiness and getting along.
He and his girlfriend are planning on opening a bed-and-breakfast with a pagan-themed shop. Whee! She is also a programmer. He recommended the Bent Cover.

I'm sorry.
Haven't heard the rant yet, but I'm sure I'm about to.

And no, I think I'll pass for now. Maybe later, though. =p

Of the local pagan and Practitioners, I'm one of the few who wears black. Votania wears whatsoever she pleases, which ranges from businesswear through grunge to flowerchylde, as do some of the others... my blonder half looks like a computer geek, and so does my big bro. Not that my blonder half doesn't look gorgeous in all black, but that's not his everyday uniform...

Am wearing a long-sleeved black leotard, patterned. Not dark-black, though; it's faded.
Long gauzy skirt of red, brown, and pale grey, with abstract leaves and dots and vaguely African-ish patterns in vertical stripes.
Dark red-maroonish vest with a slightly shiny, puffy texture pattern on it of flowers and leaves - the flowers look like a cross between a rose and a carnation.
My name, as you know, has never been Amber. :D Though I do love the gem.
I very seldom wear *all* black. I like a little brown, forest green, or maroon thrown into the mix. I even wear dark blue or a hint of beige or cream on occasion! *grin*

I started it when I was 16 to remind myself that I was prone to depression, and could easily be in the middle of a serious one without realizing it.
Now that I have that a little more under control (teenage hormones/general imbalances/ sudden gain-then-loss-of-friends do not make for stability) I still wear it, because it's a color I look very good in, it goes with everything, it's conservative and businesslike, and I don't have to worry about fashion.
I do color-coordinate well, but it's not something I think of automatically when I'm jumping out the door in the morning.
Plus, I'm not 100% graceful/tidy, and any color other than black becomes one of my "thrashed" collection quickly if I wear it when I'm not absolutely focused on staying clean. Think Pigpen.
