Tarot

My favorite Tarot deck is the Sesame Street deck.

My roommate's mother came over for 4th of July one year, and saw me absently shuffling Little Fayoumis' Sesame Street flashcards, and asked me to do a Tarot reading for her. So, I did. With the Sesame Street flashcards, since I didn't feel like getting up and getting my Tarot deck, and also because my opinion of the woman wasn't so great.

The cards drawn for a Past Present Future were "Stop", "Don't Walk", and "Up". The past: something that was so not going anywhere, a place of personal stagnation; the "Don't Walk" was the present, not going anywhere, but far more impersonal, as the Stop was a specific person holding things up, but the Don't Walk was just going nowhere... and the future was Up, things going places, and looking up from where it had been: not only not stagnation, but getting better!

Throughout this, [livejournal.com profile] votania's mother's eyes had been getting wider and wider. The thing she'd been thinking of was about whether or not one of [livejournal.com profile] votania's aunts should be going on the world tour thing she'd been planning. Said aunt had been going nowhere fast in her marriage for a long time, and had recently moved out and gotten an apartment of her own, and was still doing nothing, but was thinking of just going to see the world and get out and get something she'd always wanted to do done.

Not only proved Tarot to her, but demonstrated that someone who can interpret these things right can do it without the deck...

my favorite "card" deck is the dragon tarot, always has been.
otherwise in reality, the one I use the most is interpreting the world around me.
I ask a question and the answer manifests ":)
it goes deeper than that, but that's the best way I can relate it.

found it on the net. I did a image google search for dragons because I wanted to find one that was "just right"... the dragon images the search came out with were in the hundreds...took me awhile and I found that one.

I love this story. Sesame street tarot. Yeah yeah. :)

I once made a makeshift tarot out of cut newspaper ads. I was in a pinch. It worked!

You know I have insomnia bad when I am cruising my friendsfriends page.

LOL!

I like your stories.

Should have used a map? I've run into a few smart ass books myself and one very cruel and twisted set of cards which I gave to a "friend". ;)
