on the phone with Darkside tonight (on Saturday night) I noticed he called me Joanie. Wow. He is a close friend/family person, though, so I should not be so surprised ... the people who are close to me do tend to call me that.

It's just the first time I remember hearing him call me by that nickname.

The only people that ever call me Meggie are my parents and future ex husband.

Actually, it has been a LONG time since HE called me meggie.

*grin* My current SO/partner/boyfriend/whatever I am supposed to call him has NEVER called me Meggie. Don't know that we have ever talked about it.

I'm close to my parents and biological sister... so close friends calling me by a family nickname is not a bad thing. (Sis does not answer to her birth name anymore, and barely remembers to when it's biological family calling her that ... though her mother, after someone took up the issue rather strongly, has started to stop...)

oddly enough, my ex fiance didn't want to call me Joanie.
