Ignoring most of the veggie drama is the best way to go. Whenever [livejournal.com profile] marxdarx and Little Fayoumis mix it up, it turns into High Drama. I advised Marx of this, so we both sat back, chilled, and ignored most of the faces that were being made, though when Little Fayoumis decided that he'd rather play with his ears and eyes than eat, he did wind up in the corner for a few minutes.

Lower the wall.

Telling him how much he likes it and so forth will only make it worse. Getting mad about it will make it worse. Issuing ultimatums is possibly the worst of all. Calmly recommending that he eat it, every now and then when he stops, and occasionally sending him to the corner if he gets too fussy about it, and re-serving the offending entree for another meal... that's what seems to be working. Acknowledging, in a calm voice, that I am getting mad about it, but not giving him the satisfaction of seeing me react... that seems to be a good plan these days too.

He had a small no-thank-you helping at lunch, with ketchup. He ate that after having some of the main course, and got more of that after. He understands that vegetables will give his body stuff it needs to grow, and I'm making a point of having at least relatively balanced meals for him. The lunch veggies were not an issue. He had them drenched in ketchup, and then had more of the main course.

Mmm, corn and green beans. I swear, after this batch of green beans are gone, NO MORE. We'll see for this next round if frozen green beans do any better.

Hm. Or maybe I can blenderize them, and sneak them into latkes with the potato.

My parents occasionally served Jeffrey's/Geoffrey's green bean casserole, which was decent. It was one of those foods composed primarily of baked mashed potatoes, with green beans and ground beef (?) as the interest points.
