Ah, housecleaning.
What would normal people say? Oh, yes. "I put Christmas lights up on the ceiling in my room in the shape of a star. It looks kick-ass!"
I, on the other hand, "inscribed a permanent pentagram of light upon the ceiling of my temple."
Yeah, it looks kick-ass. I really need to take it down, though, and replace bulbs in one of the strings of lights, because about 3/4 of them don't light up, and it would be just damn stupid to do the work on a chair about to fall over onto whatever lies beneath.

It's so nice to have an altar in every direction in the house, though it looks like the primary West altar just got re-arranged in the housecleaning. Woops!!
Now I'm trying to figure out how to re-inscribe the thing, given that 3/4 of the bulbs are burned out. Granted, the ones that are still lit are of the appropriate color blue, but still... hmm. The plug situation looks dire.
Re:
I lived in a household like that for a while. Was roommates with two other pagans for about 5 months. It was good! There was an altar in every room, almost...One in each bedroom and one in the living room. None in the kitchen, exactly...though there were magical plants on the windowsill. *G*
Living in the apt with just my hubby last year was a good magical place. Our balcony faced out over a small grove of trees with a creek running through it, and it was populated by many Fae Folk. We missed that wood more than anything when we moved out to go on the tour-that-died. I've started praying for our next apartment...we're going to have to choose based on price more than anything, this time, 'cause we want to get our bills totally paid off in the next few years. So any pluses in the location column are going to have to be strictly deity-granted. :)

Hmm, let me count the altars. Two bedroom apartment, large open living room / kitchen area... Starting from the East, in the East bedroom ... mine, then my computer altar (south), then the top of the TV, East (living room), then the glass altar (multipurpose, originally a coffee table and sometimes even used for that), then the south altar, also in the living room... not much in the kitchen, though the countertops and stove are working altars for Sis's cooking rituals... North altar in the living room, then ... well, the West altar in the west bedroom was moved so now it faces east, and then a north altar in the little hallway... and then back into the east bedroom again.
Yeah, this is a witchy household, especially with the plaque with runes on it on the front door.

You need a chair to reach the ceiling?
*smirk*
Oh well, I guess the side benefit is you never hit your hand on the ceiling fan when your changing shirts either.

Oh, and have I mentioned that I'm the SWA-L archivist? (Star Wars Allslash List) If you don't know that one, it's at http://www.squidge.org/swal/
Re: Oooooohhhhhh.....
Hee. Wasn't sure if you were familar with the SA or not. I'm semi-active on Sithacademy-talk (the official e-mail list) as Joanie Laurel from House SA-AZ.
I shall have to check out the SWA-L at some point. (momentary interruption in typing as I see that Darkside's work group has dissolved and wandered off)
I seem to be more of a filker than a ficcer, though my only contributions to date are the (narrowly released) "Dark Side In Your Soul" (with the rest of House SA-AZ) and the (unreleased) "Cable Connection."
